Background Civilization games traditionally receive major expansion packs that add significant new gameplay mechanics and features. For Civilization 7, 2K Games has announced two DLC collections: the Crossroads of the World Collection (March 2025) and the Right to Rule Collection (April-September 2025). These collections will presumably include new leaders, civilizations, and wonders, but are structured as smaller DLC releases rather than a traditional large expansion pack.
Resolution Criteria This market will resolve YES if a major expansion pack (similar in scope to Civilization VI's "Rise and Fall" or "Gathering Storm") is released for Civilization 7 before July 1, 2026. The expansion must:
Add significant new gameplay mechanics or systems
Be marketed and sold as an expansion pack (or similar) rather than DLC
Be officially released by 2K Games
The market will resolve NO if:
No such expansion pack is released before July 1, 2026
Only smaller DLC packs or content collections are released
The game is delayed beyond the resolution date
Considerations
While DLC collections have been announced through September 2025, plans for content releases beyond that date have not been publicly shared
The gaming industry's trend toward seasonal passes and smaller DLC releases instead of traditional expansion packs may affect Civilization 7's post-launch content strategy
Because some resolution criteria are subjective, I will not bet on this market.
