Regarding his current charges and the outcome of his arrest.
The "exploitation purposes" prerequisite needs to (more or less) be ruled to relate to the sex work that the trafficked persons performed or were intended to perform.
Feb 3, 10:59pm: Will Andrew Tate be found guilty of sex trafficking? → Will Andrew Tate be found guilty of sex/human trafficking? May 18, 5:41am: human (sex) trafficking
Changes to the question are not intended to be material.
Could you clarify whether the UK charges would affect the resolution? I'd argue they should not because the description says
Regarding his current charges and the outcome of his arrest.
At the time of posting "current charges" would've meant the Romanian ones. But if my interpretation is correct, it would be best if the description were updated because from here on out "current charges" could easily be confused to mean the UK ones.
@JeremiahKellick the author of this question isn't active anymore, so I can foresee an outcome where the Romanian charges are dropped, but he's convicted of the British ones. If that happens, the mods will have to come up with a way to resolve the question and unfortunately it's gonna piss people off either way.
@CourierSix @JeremiahKellick it's pretty clear this is only about the Romanian charges since the UK case didn't exist until over a year after this market was created.
@dgga I get you but the question is "Will Andrew Tate be found guilty of human (sex) trafficking?" - not "Will Andrew Tate be found guilty of human (sex) trafficking in Romania". The description doesn't mention Romania either.
Regarding his current charges and the outcome of his arrest.
Was always there since the creation of this market. This has been discussed before in the comments, too.
I agree it's a good idea for @mods to clarify this in the description and/or the title, though.
@ian but that's not what the title has been for the entire time it's been a question? 100% there has been a significant amount of people that have bet on this market thinking it's just him being found guilty anywhere.
@ian I understand but a lot of people will have put money on this market thinking the resolution is whether he is found guilty of trafficking in general (like the comment below this one). I just feel like one person shouldn't be able to dictate how the question is resolved just because they can change the title?

This is wrong, Manifold is all for creator autonomy (and if creator is absent, mods still represent them).
We believe users should have autonomy over their own markets as much as possible.

@CourierSix The creator intended via the description to be about the charges in romania, I just made this more explicit. Do you have a better solution?
Marginalia unrelated to the progression of the Tate’s case.
It looks like the entire cascade of legal trouble was brought on by one white knight, that was dating one of the alleged victims according to the article cited below. Looks like “Alpha Male Tate” was brought down by “Beta Male Simp”. What a twist of irony.
“According to court documents, the sergeant's actions set in motion the investigation that culminated in a raid of Tate's Romanian property, where prosecutors in the Balkan nation say Tate and his younger brother, Tristan, coerced multiple women into making porn on OnlyFans while the duo pocketed a large portion of the revenue.”
“The Tates' lawsuit named the U.S. Marine Corps sergeant as a defendant in an attempt to hold him liable for forwarding the accusers' claims to various government officials. The brothers claimed he was romantically involved with one of the accusers, a Delray Beach woman, and ignored signs that she was fabricating the trafficking story.”
P.S. it’s unclear from the article how evidentiary anything in the court case is, and this is just a commentary about what’s being recited prima facie.
the Romanian charges have not been dropped and he is still due to stand trial - this is a lifted travel restriction, nothing more, at this point
sorry that was rude of me
