A majority of tariffs on this list must be in effect for 24 hours before September 8th. These must be in their forms announced in a letter to the country in July: if a deal is negotiated lowering the tariff for a country, that tariff is not considered to have gone into effect.
Any additional letters sent in July count for resolution of this market, but any sent in August or September will not.
I am getting really tired of making these tariff markets
Markets have learned that TACO, and refuse to sell at all with these tariff announcements. But Trump is using that as evidence that the tariffs are good policy and only chickened out last time after a massive selloff. It's a high-stakes game of chicken
